What is a Mother’s Blessing Ceremony?
Throughout history and across cultures, we have honored the important transitions in a woman’s life.  At Natural Lullabies, we feel that childbirth/motherhood is one of the most exciting and transformational times in a woman’s life, therefore, we would like to celebrate this experience with you!

A Mother's Blessing Ceremony originated within the Navajo tradition as a woman-centered ritual to honor and celebrate a woman’s right of passage into motherhood.  It is a special time where mothers and friends join together in circle to celebrate collective ancestral wisdom, sisterhood, and the changing of a woman’s body, mind, and spirit through pregnancy and childbirth.  During our ceremonies, the mother-to-be is honored for the woman she is, for the life she is growing inside her, and for the mother she is evolving in to.  Through community and creative activities, our ceremonies provide time-honored, personalized, and unforgettable memories.

We offer the service of planning and hosting a personalized Mother’s Blessing Ceremony.  We will tailor it to fit your specific needs.  The investment is $125.  Ceremonies usually last approximately 2-3 hours.
**We can also incorporate portions of the Mother’s Blessing Ceremony into your baby shower.   This is also a unique gift for any mother-to-be!

A ceremony can include:

Potluck meal and beverages served throughout event.
Welcome and introductions.
Ceremony: belly painting/belly casting/birth beads/gifts/honoring ceremony/pampering/candle lighting/wrist binding, and much more.
Final meditation/poems/blessing for mother-to-be and baby.

Our service includes:

• Initial meeting to work out the details.
• Creating a guest list and sending out the invitations.
• Planning the event and hosting the ceremony. (The ceremony is usually held at the house of the woman who is receiving the blessing or a close family member or friend.)
• Organizing the food and beverages.  (This is typically done potluck style). 
• Please be advised that there is an additional charge for body painting and belly casting and these rituals generally take more time, however, they are tons of fun and create special moments for everyone).

Community Mother’s Blessing Ceremony
We also offer a community Mother’s Blessing Ceremony the 2nd Monday of every month at Nirvana Body & Soul.  We believe strongly in the power and necessity for community gathering.  So, gather all of the mother’s-to-be that you know and join us for this one of a kind experience!  Your investment is $35 for a 1-2 hour event.
